Can bladder prolapse be repaired without have a hysterectomy?

Can bladder prolapse be repaired without have a hysterectomy?
Best answer:
Is your bladder prolapse due to uterine prolapse? I can understand her recommending a hysterectomy if your uterus has also prolapsed. But, if only the bladder is prolapsed, I wouldn't think a hysterectomy would be necessary. If it were me, I would ask for a second opinion.

By the way, if you're worried about menopause, you can have a hysterectomy and keep your ovaries.

Would drs recommend having a hysterectomy to stop a bladder prolapse?
Best answer:
A hysterectomy is a big deal and I would not have it done unless I had major, major problems.

I would get a second opinion. You can have a bladder tack performed if it's just your bladder that has prolapsed. However, if your uterus is prolapsing also, your gynecologist will probably recommend a hysterectomy. You could try using a pessary if you do not want to have the hysterectomy. If the pessary doesn't work, then you may want to consider the hysterectomy.
