Can i claim compensation from the NHS? If so how?
Best answer:
1)You must show the standard of medical care was poor
2) That injury or harm resulted from this
we never heard of being put on a waiting list for stones.they usaually burst them up with sonic waves and you just then pass them when you pee. This is way bad.You need the operations asap. And the NHS should compensate you during this absurd waiting period. Why does this take so long?
I agree with Tracy:sound waves can break down the stones and you can pee them out.
But what happened?
You were on the urgent list and they changed that:check the social services in the hospital and complain about it:they might help you.
Wishing you all the best:ColorsIt is unlikely you will get any compensation.
Go back and see your GP. He is in the best position to get things moving for you.
Alternatively, since you work in the NHS go to see your HR department and ask if they can get any sense out of the hospital where your operation is due to be done.

Little Swan...Take it easy. Kidneys are for life, and we should take very good care for them.
"- shooting pain around the kidney/back/ rib area" - you are not too far from describing how it feels. I would rather say the pain is 'piercing', like stiletto into the back (as stones pass through the small diameter vessels that carry the urine to the bladder). Painful.
I would suggest you have a very serious look at your diet. The stones come from deposit of calcium and other minerals into your kidneys, product of diet and carbonated drinks; eliminate all of them and replace with pure filtered water. Google the question and find diets that will eliminate the food and its contents of minerals that will intesify production of stones (shell fish, lobters, shrimp, high content of red and white meat, animal fats - specially pork's - and things like that). Have a "healthy" life style regarding eating habits.
Consult with people interested in your well being and health, your parents, maybe.
Hope this helps. My experience with muscle pains are they tend to stay for an hour or so, just kinda hangs there whenever you try to move. A quick shooting pain that is over relatively quickly (maybe a little lingering pain afterward) is most likely A) the kidney problem, or B) sudden, quick movement of inactive muscles. It is hard to tell now, because you have been inactive so a while, so the muscles are a bid weary and unused right now. Of course (and i probably don't have to tell you this), it could just be your period too. If the pain gets worse, I would recommend calling about it to your doctor.
Sorry about the problem you're having. Hope you get better.
