Is there anything other than surgery which can help a prolapsed colon/uterus to return to the natural position

Is there anything other than surgery which can help a prolapsed colon/uterus to return to the natural position
Best answer:
No, usually the only and the most effective way to remedy these are through a surgical procedure. It sounds as though you would benefit from surgery, if your surgeon has recommended a procedure to you.

While your incontinence may be linked to prolapse there are exercises that can help - you should speak to your doctor and find a physiotherapist who specialises in incontinence. It may not help your prolapse, but it can help with bladder control by re-training your bladder muscles and nervous system to go less frequently.

While these may help a little, successful surgery could help with all of the problems you have described. Make sure you talk with your surgeon about the risks and the chances of failure when making a decision about any surgical procedure.
Good luck.

I want my periods to stop. I have severe PMDD. What can I do?
Best answer:
Get pregnantWELL, you could go 4 a hystrorectomy , thats every thing removed. BUT that would throw you into the change of life soon. SOME times the DRs use a birth control treatment. ASK your DR about that birthcontrol treatment. The best thing to do is to get on the birth control pill. It will regulate your periods and takes away the PMDD because you don't ovulate.
Talk to your doctor about it. Just a warning though....the first month on the pill is hell. You will feel like crap daily with headaches, nausea etc...but after that initial hump, you will fell much better so stick with it!Other than a hysterectomy ask your doctor about that new birth control pill that is said to have 4 periods a year...can't remember the name of it but your doctor will know....good luckI understand your pain. I'm only 24 and have had painful periods since at 12. I don't know anything about PMDD, but I know a lot about endometriosis b/c I too suffer from that condition. I recommend talking to your doctor b/c NOTHING helped my painful periods....not even birth control. I couldn't move for 2 days or sometimes the entire week I was on my period.
Your doctor may put you on continuous birth control to skip your periods. I had to have an exploratory laparoscopy to have the endometriosis and scar tissue burned off and she also removed a fibrous tumor the size of my fist. My doctor also prescribed lupron which is a powerful injection that I get once a month, but you can only get it for six months b/c its so strong and has serious side effects. Lupron does cause a hormonal shift and I don't have my period while on it.
I wouldn't recommend a hysterectomy b/c you are so young and you may change your mind. I do highly recommend talking to your doctor b/c endometriosis is serious and to add PMDD it seems like you may be in pain half of the month. I also wouldn't recommend Lupron b/c it took me a couple of months after my surgery to decide if I was going to take it. Its definately an individual choice.
Talk to your doctor and if your doctor is not understanding...get a new doctor. You should not have to go through this every month.
