its probably a psychological reaction to taking medicine. some people just cough and gag with medicine. no real explanation for it. now.....how old is your son? if your son is under the age of 16, then you need to fire your pediatrician. children under age 16 should NOT take cipro, unless they have anthrax or kidneys made of gold. there is a chance of rhabdomyolysis in children under age 16. if he is young, thats just a big no no.
