How can you get rid of Uterine Fibroids without having surgery?

How can you get rid of Uterine Fibroids without having surgery?

It's called "Embolization..." (Non-surgical technique)

http://www.drfibroid.com/There is nothing you can do naturally. My MIL has one the size of a grapefruit and she's one of those herbal loving people who is convinved herbs/natural remedies can cure all. So she set out on taking a bunch of weird crap like tree bark and pussywillow fluff...( LOL I don't know the exact names but this is good enough) and told herself it would shrink her fibroid. Well,....it didn't. It's now even larger than before and she risks rupturing her uterus because she won't get it treated by a medical doctor. Please don't follow her steps. These can be really dangerous if you leave them untreated.Hormonal medications may reduce size in the short term but wont get rid of it. They are used as a pre-op reduction to make the surgery more likely to be successful.

Embolisation is a relatively non-invasive surgical procedure which involves inserting a small tube in an artery in your groin, they will then guide the tube to the uterine arteries and block them off, thus reducing the blood supply to the fibroid, thus hopefully 'killing it' or shrinking it in size.

A relatively new technique you might be able to have is ultrasound ablation. Depends if it's available in your area.

'fraid to say definitive treatment is surgeryI'd agree that the only "definitive" way to get rid of it is surgery.
Herbal treatments can be useful, but never if used in isolation. The only way they can be successful is as part of an overall strategy for treating fibroids naturally.
There is little doubt that fibroids are usually caused by a combination of dietary and lifestyle factors and that they grow over time. Reducing the symptoms (and hopefully the size) of the fibroids can take time too. By carefully managing diet and hormone levels, sometimes coupled with specific herbal remedies to both help to manage symptoms and shrink the size of fibroids, improvements can be seen-often significant improvements.
However, the problem is that most people are simply not prepared to give these methods a proper chance as they simply involve too much effort. It's a bit like dieting really-we all know what we have to do, but how many will actually get out there and exercise more and reduce calories to a level that gets us to our target weights? Not that many! Bear in mind people even fail to diet when their lives are potentially at risk.

I would say that if you are committed and prepared to be fully involved in your own treatment, there are definitely steps you can take to both manage symptoms and reduce the size of the fibroids and as fibroids are rarely life-threatening or dangerous, you may like to try this step before committing to surgery.

What is a uterine perforation and how is it treated?

That's bad. That means they made a hole in her uterus. Endometrial ablation means that they rub the inner lining of the uterus to make it no longer develop and shed as the uterus otherwise would do during the normal menstrual cycle. But they may have rubbed too hard and they made a hole in the uterus. Hemorrhaging means that it's bleeding a lot, which is to be expected when you open up a tear like that. They should be able to stop the bleeding, though, and sew up the hole. She will be OK. Worst case scenario they have to remove the uterus--a hysterectomy. But more likely they'll sew up the hole and hopefully it will heal cleanly.

The Uterine Health Companion: A Holistic Guide to Lifelong Wellness

The uterus is a remarkable organ—it is our first home, contributes to women's sexual pleasure, houses some of the strongest muscles in the body, and even helps prevent heart disease and high blood pressure. However, in the West, the uterus has generally been viewed as insignificant beyond reproduction and rarely receives our attention except when it becomes problematic or when we focus on getting pregnant or giving birth. Even though health-promoting strategies for organs like the heart and lungs have become common knowledge, preventative measures for lifelong uterine health have been largely absent from Western medical care. Consequently, one-third of all women in the United States will have a hysterectomy--the highest rate in the world.

In The Uterine Health Companion, anthropologist and holistic health expert Eve Agee reveals that women in many non-Western societies do not share our high rates of benign uterine problems or our negative attitudes about the uterus. Drawin
