hysterectomy recovery?
Best answer:
According to friends who have had hysterectomy (some done vaginally) the average recovery time is about 6 weeks. As for when you'll be able to go back to work it's hard to say. I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to let them know that you have some additional questions about the after surgery and when you'll be able to go to work.Even done vaginally, a week is a bit too motivated. Most likely, you will want at least 2 weeks off from work (or more if needed, given your own personal pain tolerance and health situation). Even after that, restrictions will likely be imposed in terms of lifting certain amounts of weight, sitting for too long, sexual activity, baths, etc. Plan on taking the two weeks, it will only help to know that the time is there if you need it so you can recover at your leisure. Good luck!

Hysterectomy Recovery?
Best answer:
Pain meds and rest. The only thing I can recommend is that as soon as you can get up and walk a little, that you do it to help get your strength back. Try to eat as healthy as you can, but avoid anything that can cause gas including drinks with ice. There really isn't much you can do to help the recovery along. I've had to have two major surgeries that involved my abdominal muscles and nerves. One was a hysterectomy.it can take even longer than 4 weeks, I think the healing process is different for every woman. I do not think there is a way to hurry up the healing process. You need a lot of rest, you will walk very slow at first and it will take time till you really feel up to everything. It is so important to take good care of yourself otherwise things will just drag. I found this site very helpful (I am a woman)

The most important thing is lift NOTHING!
