i had rectal prolapse surgery with mesh implant in 3/07 and have had chronic severe constipation since.?
Best answer:
You need to get this fixed or you will end up with another surgery and you sure don't want that to happen. Begin eating more fiber, use a stool softener, and avoid eating junk food. Not only will you feel better but it just may fix the problem.I am not familiar with the type of surgery you had. Just wanted to say that I had 2/3 of my stomach and 6 foot of intestine removed due to a perforated ulcer 20 years ago. Chronic constipation is always a problem. I find if I eat fresh fruit everyday and drink lots and lots of water, I do okay. Stool softners work but I don't like them. I think the water is the key - make yourself drink as much as you can get down every 10 to 15 minutes and see if it helps. Good luck, stay healthy.
I had rectocele (prolapse) and had surgery to repair it. ?
Best answer:
Never, ever, ever be embarrassed to call your doctor! They know best what goes on in your body, and they have the necessary info to help you! And yes, there are many cases in which one surgery was followed by another, and another, and another, so two surgeries isn't anything to be embarrassed about. Don't sacrifice your health for the sake of unnecessary embarrassment! Call them right away!
