Q&A: Does removing the uterus causes a woman to no longer be able to produce egg from her ovary?

Does removing the uterus causes a woman to no longer be able to produce egg from her ovary?
Best answer:
a woman is already born with all the eggs in her ovaries, eggs are never produced.and im not sure about the second question.ask her doc.As long as the ovaries remain in tact, an egg will be produced. The ovaries are responsible for releasing hormones, and thus the uterus plays no part in the releasing of the egg.

The size, type and location of the tumor will help to determine if just the tumor, a part of the uterus or the whole uterus needs to be removed. Also, whether or not the tumor is benign or cancerous would obviously play a huge role. If it is cancerous, or the woman is post menopausal removing the uterus is a safe bet. But if it is a benign tumor and the woman is young and has not yet bared children, doctors generally advise that they not do anything extreme.

Your question is a little vague... Is it cancerous or not. Cancer: remove all or as much tissue as possible. Benign: remove just the tumor unless size and pain dictate otherwise.

Hope this helps
