How long do dissolvable stitches (used to repair a tear during vaginal delivery) take to dissolve?
Best answer:
well i know you cant have sex for at least 6 weeks so you still got time.but call your doctor and ask.i think they should have dissolved by now -- check with the doctoryes, it can take about a month or more for dissolvable stitches to fall out or be unnoticeable. This is normal. Watch for signs of redness and swelling around the stitches, which could be a sign of infection. Just keep them as clean as you can and they will come out when they are ready and you are healed. They can last as long as 6 to 8 weeks in some places. You will notice that in some areas they will seem to be gone while in others they are not. Just keep the area as clean and dry as you can and follow up w/ your doctor at 6 weeks. if he/she feels you have healed and the stitches are still there they will remove them. congratulations on the new baby! You likely are not seeing sutures. If what you see troubles you, call your doctor's office and ask about it.Yes. its normal. when i had my daughter i thought they would never dissolve but they do they should be pretty close to being completely gone by the time you go in for you 6 week cheek up and if something is wrong they will let you know what. Don't stress it miss you just push a watermelon out of a lemon you body takes time to heal.
