How many of you ladies had to have a hysterectomy after having a tubal ligation?
Best answer:
It`s rare.Maybe somebody has a complications.I have had nothing but trouble with my tubal.
First, after I had my third child, I had myself a tuba-ligation. That's where they cut, burn the endings, and then tie them. I got pregnant again!
I had a second tuba ligation, my husband had a Vasectomy done, and I had sever bleeding issues after wards. It took my awhile to find a doctor to listen to me. ALL of the male doctors just told me it was in my mind. I was using 56( no exaggerations) Always overnight pads per cycle. Yes I kept track!
I was having sever pains, like a hot White, tearing pain when I stood or walked, again all in my head!
I finally had a complete Hysterectomy, and my FEMALE GYN saw with her own eyes, and took pics to show me!
My Uterus, Fallopian Tubes, Ovaries were completely encased with scar tissue. They also found out the pain I was experiencing was from a one inch tear in my Uterus. My Endrometrious was growing on the outside, had attached to my inner stomach wall, and would most likely had killed me within a couple years.

What are the effects of a total hysterectomy with the ovaries left behind?
Best answer:
I had my uterus removed and one ovary left in . I am fine. I will go through a natural menopause etc. It has not changed my sex drive or any thing else. You are talking about a partial hysterectomy. A "total" is when they take both the uterus and the ovaries. You should not feel much different except that you won't get a period anymore. You will not need hormone replacement therapy nor will you experience menopause since your ovaries will not be removed. You need to discuss this thoroughly with your doctor. Your family are not the ones who are having the health problem. If you are married, have your partner accompany you to the doctor's office. You both can ask questions and get professional answers. You won't be crazy. I had a total hysterectomy when I wasn't much older than you, and I am not crazy!!. Good luck.
The Hysterectomy Hoax: The Truth About Why Many Hysterectomies Are Unnecessary and How to Avoid Them, 3rd Edition
While more than 600,000 hysterectomies are performed each year in the United States, 90 percent of them are unwarranted. This vital health guide offers women the information they need to empower themselves in making critical health decisions. For example, surgery can often do more harm than good and may pose needless risks, except in situations involving a life-threatening illness such as cancer. Surgeons, however, often rely on hysterectomies as a panacea for everything from premenstrual syndrome to uterine fibroids. An important way to bridge the communication gap between patient and physician is to ask the specific questions in this book. Included is information about various gynecological conditions—such as endometriosis, uterine prolapse, ovarian cysts, and precancerous conditions—and suggestions for alternative treatments.
