Fibroid can be very painful, despite other treatments. Fibroid can also cause heavy bleeding that can be difficult to manage and work.

There is a series of drug treatments Lupron and others which reduce the size of the tumors. Get a second opinion as a questions before cutting. The size of the tumors and the growth rate of the tumors is a consideration when selecting treatments.Some side effects will depend on if the ovaries are removed in addition to the uterus. Removal of the ovaries initiates menopause.Since I han one for pretty much the same reason (endmitreouis) I can tell her she will be so happy after the pain from the surgury,because there will be no cramping bleeding..horrable pain. I do however suggest that they take out both ovaries,my dr left one because it was ok and neglected to tell me I was still going to have PMS till menopause good luck!Side effects of hysterectomy (keep the ovaries).
