I have never had a bladder sling put in but my mother has. She seems to enjoy it! She no longer wets herself when she laughs to hard or sneezes to hard! I think that was the best thing that she has ever done because now she can enjoy life without having to worry about them little slip ups!!I work with a woman who had this done last yr, she is fine, back to life as usual. good luck.

Does anyone have bladder incontinence?

Hi Blazer

I would go here and use find a simple remedy. Lots of testimonials on healing all kinds of issues.

Best of health to youIf youre a guy- (Are you a male or female? Looks like youre a man, so heres a little of both) You can use depends underwear pads for men. I have some under my sink for my son, for when he used to have incontinence probs. You can also go to the doctor and see about getting some medications that help you strengthen the bladder muscles. I would also look into finding a holistic health care provider to find a natural cure or exercise that will help to maximize and quicken your recovery. There are also books out there that have natural remedies in them, that can help, if youre too embarassed to go see someone.

Poise pads can be really useful, to help with mild leakage. (I have the same problem, and it can be embarassing)
Or if you have a really bad problem, you can go to the doctors office and ask about medicines that are designed to strengthen the bladder muscles.

One thing you can do is to go and get ben wah balls. They are these tiny metal balls that you put in your vagina, and you are supposed to try to hold them inside for as long as possible. It helps to strengthen the kegel muscles (the PC muscles that support your bladder control). Having stronger kegel muscles also helps make sex more enjoyable. There are some other products that you can sometimes find at adult bookstores/ novelty shops that do the same thing. Ben Wah balls are a good start, and are reasonably inexpensive. Try them for a month and see how you progress. Natural remedies are always a better place to start rather than jumping in and taking medication right off the bat, in my professional opinion. Medication usually has side effects, which require more medication, which have other side effects, and it ends up doing a real number on your body- and a domino effect with the number of pills you end up having to take, also.
Save your money, and start with ben wah balls and some poise pads. =) You'll thank me later.Stay off caffeine , chocolate, tomatoes and alcohol as much as possible as they all stimulate the bladder to do pee pees. Ask you r GP to send you to a specialist, physiotherapists can give you exercises to restrengthen the necessary muscles. Short quick clenching of the pelvic floor only strengthens some of the muscles , you also need to do clenching and counting to 10 (or start with as long as you can manage) , do this sitting on a hard chair leaning forward everyday . Also train your bladder by waiting for 5 mins every time you want the toilet, gradually make this longer and longer to regain mental control.i had the same problem before i went 2 rehab. im on a bladder program, i have 2 cath every 4 hrs(including at night)
it has been great 4 me because i have total control over it. and theres noleakage in between the 4 hrs

  1. My wife have the same problem and the information about it seems rather scarce, probably because we are talking about a delicate, intimate issue here. I can tell that my wife is not comfortable talking about it with me either. She's going to have surgery, I guess it's called a tension free vaginal tape procedure and I hope she's going to get rid of the leakage problems. I'm more worried about the bladder sling failures that I read about. Maybe the chances are minor, but regardless I'm a bit concerned about her. Anyone around with experience with this surgery? Any suggestion to what to be aware of, or extra careful about, is appreciated.
