Can I exercise with a prolapsed uterus?

Can I exercise with a prolapsed uterus?
Best answer:
I just had surgery to remove my uterus due to this condition. I clean for a living and went about daily life after finding out about my condition. After two months my uterus had dropped so much that I could feel it at the top of my vagina and during sex. It made sex hurt and impossible at the end, this is why I choose to have the hysterectomy I was 30 and have two children which caused the prolapse. But my advice is to seek out a good obgyn because you are going to require medical attention for this condition. Even daily life made is worsen, Any extra exercises could worsen it as well, especially lifting. I would walk for a while, until you seek a specialist and find out the extent of your condition. Good luck:)Hi - No! Absolutely not recommended!

What do you mean, you rushed in and out of an Emergency Depot? This is a horrible condition, and you need to see your Doctor quickly about it. You may need an operation to correct this.

It is far too late for Kegals weights.

How does having a prolapsed uterus affect having sex and can the man feel the uterus during sex?
Best answer:
Make sure you use the missionary position where everything falls backwards. This way he will not notice it and it won't hurt you either. Any other position might be uncomfortable. If he suggest's any other position, tell him you like to be submissive during sex and like a man on top. That should quiet him down until your situation changes. However if you're experiencing a lot of pain I would go back and tell the doctor. A hysterectomy is great, had one and feel fine, healthy and pain free.I have a prolapsed uterus and a cystocele as well, and it does not in any way interfere with my sex life. Even though I've been at the point where I too feel like my uterus might "fall out" after standing for even short periods of time, it has not changed my sex life at all. The hardest part is overcoming your own insecurities about the situation and deciding how aggressive you want to be in your treatment of it.

Incidentally, hysterectomy is not your only option. Kegels work well for some women (although, honestly, they haven't helped me much at all). Some urogynecologists suggest inserting using a pessary (a ring that is inserted to hold up your bladder/uterus), and some surgical options exist, including using mesh or some other material to pull the organs back up to where they should be.

Having a hysterectomy isn't something to enter into lightly; though some women say it's the best thing ever, some women have many of the same symptoms as menopause (hot flashes, night sweats, libido problems, etc.) after a hysterectomy and end up having to resort to hormone therapy. Just make sure you talk to your doctor (and as many others as it takes to make you feel comfortable) before you decide which option is best for YOU. Good luck.
