Q&A: Can frequent jogging or high-impact exercises encourage pelvic prolapse?

Can frequent jogging or high-impact exercises encourage pelvic prolapse?
Best answer:
It's not called pelvic prolapse it happens with your uterus or bladder. It usually is a result of childbirth, like 3 or more children and happens very late in life. Some younger woman have it. I don't think that jogging could affect the uterine ligaments negatively but, excessively they could.

Can alot of jogging and jumping jacks cause pelvic prolapse if you are prone to it?
Best answer:
I don't know if it could, but I know that having children and continuous heavy lifting will do it.If you already have a weakened pelvic floor than any jogging or jumping jacks can continue to weaken the pelvic floor and causing further prolapse of the pelvic organs. Have you discussed a pessary with your doctor? Its a small round ring that is inserted into the vagina and keeps the organs intact. This may help during your exercises.
