Q&A: Friend diagnosed with uterine cancer with no health insurance. What should she do?

Friend diagnosed with uterine cancer with no health insurance. What should she do?
Best answer:
1) Most US hospitals can't deny treatment on ability to pay
2) She should apply for state MedicaidUnless she has children I don't think she can receive Medi-Cal...she may be eligible for the program our hospital offers called M.I.A. or Medically Indigent Adult...BUT tell her to at least TRY for Medi-Cal...Good Luckgo to ur job center (wher u get m.a.) it takes 4 months to get but it starts right away n they pay the back bills. my friend got a lung removed 6 months ago-she just got her card n they paid it all.Diagnostic procedures do not remove cancer. They diagnose problems.

I've never heard of a D and C as a treatment for uterine cancer. A D and C (dilation and curettage) is what you do for an abortion or after a miscarriage.

She needs to talk to her doctor about what she should do.most states have emergency catastropic medicaid. she can call her county health department, or talk to the social service department at the hospital in her community. there are a few programs out there. this is another reason to pass universal health care. how awful. im sorry.Tell her to use flax seed oil and cottage cheese

My mom had a biopsy yesterday to check for uterine cancer because her uterine lining is receeding ?
Best answer:
The uterus has two linings. The first is called the endometrium, which grows and recedes every month, Like you said during menstruation.
The second lining is called the myometrium, which is made of muscle tissue. This is the most common uterine cancer. I hope your mom is ok and her biopsy comes back negative. My prayers for your mom. Blessings.
