I think I have a prolapsed uterus X.X?
Best answer:
many women live their entire lives using a tool called a pessary to maintain their uterus, just talk to your gynecologist. At 17 years old, highly unlikely that you have a prolapsed uterus.Hon, no offense to your mom but she is wrong. A prolapsed uterus can occur at any age. It is uncommon in a very young person but is NOT always related to childbirth. Go to your gynecologist ASAP and have this checked out, hysterectomy is never the first option for someone so young. That said, you cannot be sure you even have a prolapse until your gyno examines and confirms it. What you describe may just be a normal part of your personal anatomy hon. Just go make the appointment today so that you can end the speculation and get on with healthy living. Good luck!if you do have a prolapse of your uterus, womb, it can be held in place by a pessary, which is a rubber or plastic ring , which fits at the top of the vagina and hold the uterus in place.
the ring has a hole in the center, so that menstrual flow can escape through the cervix and vagina
I want my periods to stop. I have severe PMDD. What can I do?

There are a certain type of birth control shot that you can get from you obgyn that will keep you from getting it for I think about 6 months. If I were you I would talk to my doctor to see if this is a good option for you. It's simply a matter of ceasing your periods. I take birth control pills all of the time with a period once every 5-6 months or so. Ask your OB-GYN. THis is a very good option that leaves your fertility intact, but stops your periods for up to 6 months at a time. I do it because I have severe anemia - to keep from losing blood by heavy periods. I don't see why it wouldn't work for you as well. You just take the ACTIVE pills every day and never the placebo pills. When the placebo pill week is supposed to begin, I just start a new pack of pills - with the active pills again, and so on.u shud try brathing exercises. they actually help. also eat a chocolate when ur date is near. it has helped me ! and drink loads of water to keep body heat out!Birth control is an option but I would strongly suggest that you set up a consultation with your physician...you don't really want to play with stuff like that. Good luck! The only way to permanently eliminate the menstrual cycle is a hystorectomy and most doctors would not conduct this on a woman so young unless it was truly life threatening. There is however a birth control pill called Seasonale that you can take that causes the menstrual cycle to occur only 4 times a year and I vaguely recall hearing on the Today Show about a pill that does suspend it indefinitely. But as with any birth control pill, if you stop taking it, your cycle returns. I don't recall the name but I'd ask my GYN if I were you.I use to take my birth control and skip the week I would normaly have a period and start a new pack instead not sure if that will help.
