Q&A: How does the uterus keep the body healthy?

How does the uterus keep the body healthy?
Best answer:
Many woman have had hysterectomies which means the uterus has been removed, they obviously do not die.A woman CAN live without her uterus; it is very common!
It is removed due to heavy bleeding caused by fibroids, and due to cancer.

But over time, the absence of the organ can lead to bladder prolapse. The uterus isnt a vital organ so the woman wouldn't die. she would just not be able to get pregnant. The uterus is a reproductive organ that is involved in menstruation (period) that build up its inner lining due to hormonal influences to make it suitable for carrying a baby. There are issues if this lining becomes infected or is improperly shed leaving scar tissue. You can get diseases like cancer of the uterus. Hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus and is a common procedure which isnt fatal. The uterus really doesn't play a role in keeping the body healthy and many women have to have their uteruses taken out for health reasons and no, they don't die. A woman's life without a uterus would simply be a life without a period and without biological children. If her ovaries are still there, she should not have any really bad consequences. Not have ovaries decreases estrogen production and causes numerous issues, but not having a uterus is not too bad.

As for what diseases affect the uterus? There are many diseases that affect the uterus....everything from uterine cancer to endometriosis to uterine fibroids.

What are the symtpons of a prolapsed uterus?
Best answer:
My wife has a prolapsed anus and she complains of burning pains. i think it is a common symptom. My wife caught hers on a girls holiday, glad I did not go.There are various degrees of grading of prolapse of the uterus.
At the earliest stage the mother does not feel that there is a prolapse. There may be symptoms like trickling of the urine on straining or burning sensation due to urinary infections that easily occur due to prolapse. At te early stage although there is no visible prolapse .if you apply you finger to the anterior vaginal wall while straining a little the finger will bulge. This is because the anterior vaginal wall is weak. THIS IS THE FIRST STAGE OF THE PROLAPSE ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO VISIBLE PROLAPSE' and is called "first degree prolapse'

The latest stage is when the whole uterus is hanging outside
is callewd third degree prolapse.
In between there is an intermediate grade.

If you wish you may suggest to the gynaecologist to do what is needed for the present and to think of surgery if required for a later date.

What I could say is that although hysterectomy is major surgery, is mostly free of complications and recovery is rapid.

In the very early stage exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles may delay or control the prolapse.

At a late stage when part of the uterus is out insertion of a pessary may keep the uterus raised without causing problems.
At these stages certain surgical repairs too can be done.

In later stages removal of the whole womb
is required.

It may happen that sometimes surgeons may decide of surgery early to prevent future harmful outcomes or due to certain reasons which we do not see from a distance.

It is best to discuss with the gynaecologist.

Your burning sensation , if due to an infection, will be found by a urine examination.
